(PAIR) of English Box-Lock Flint Pistols by, RICHARDS, STRAND, LONDON, #3090 Firearms

An Antique (PAIR) of Revolutionary War Period English Box-Lock Flint Pistols by; 'RICHARDS, STRAND, LONDON', circa. 1765-1780. 5" .52 cal. round (3) stage steel turn-off cannon barrels. 11 3/8" overall length. Engraved steel box-lock frame/breech w/maker's name; "RICHARDS" and "STRAND, LONDON". All steel parts have light to moderate salt and pepper pitting. Both stocks are solid w/minor edge chips, normal light scratches and dings from years of service. Originally made with top mounted sliding safety's that were removed some time during the working life of the pistols. Both pistols are in good working order and are in their original flintlock configuration. Nice untouched age patina. This type of pistol was prized by and used by Officer's during the American Revolutionary War.

Note; one pistol has an old collection or Museum inventory tag on stock '439'.
